     TeacherTube is an easy to navigate website similar to YouTube, but with education in mind. Teachers can search shared videos or upload their own. TeacherTube also allows the sharing of documents, lesson plans, activities, and audio. When teachers aren’t accessing the collective material they can join a vibrant community with discussion groups geared to many interests or start their own blog. The most important characteristic of this tool is that it offers a safe and friendly. It is absolutely free and you can access material without joining, but to have access to abilities such as saving favorites you will need to create an account. You also have the ability to link this to social networks such as Facebook.
     As an educator TeacherTube could be very useful. The videos could be used to catch the attention of students before a lesson, supplement what they are learning in class, or appeal to visual learners that are having a difficult time with a concept. The audio and photos could be used in creating a slide show to go on a "field trip" created by the teacher or students. Teachers could also this to create a class blog or vlog.
